Friends in Action is supported by individual donations, local churches and municipalities, fund raising events and grants. Grants currently account for over half of our funding sources. We currently receive no state or federal funding.
Every year, the Board sets a fund raising goal to meet anticipated budget needs. Friends in Action is a low-overhead organization that keeps our costs low, utilizing donated office furniture and equipment, sharing building use with the YMCA at our new location, and delivering free services to hundreds of people through the generosity of our volunteers.
2013 will continue to be a challenging year. We have grown significantly in the past year and have expanded our office operation to meet the needs of increasing demand for volunteer services and the demands of operating a daily Senior Center.
